Extending Play & Social Development
Early Childhood Webinar Series: 0-6 years
This webinar follows on from our Encouraging Early Play Development webinar. Play is integral to a child’s development. Play is the medium through which children learn. Social development encompasses people of all ages using skills to communicate and interact with others. Social connectedness is the feeling of being connected to others and belonging to a group. For autistic children, this may come in many forms and present very differently based on their individual preferences. Social connectedness forms the foundation for developing structure and collaboration in play.
This session aims to increase attendees’ knowledge of how to support young autistic children to help develop their play and social development skills and work towards successful collaborative play with others. In turn, this will build lifelong social skills development.
Our webinar is co-presented with a professional who has a lived experience with an autistic child.
